Our family spent the holidays with the Hawkins in California. We ALL stayed at the house for most of the time. Needless to say when you have 20 people, nine of which are grand kids, 5 of which are under the age of 3, staying in the same place, even the roomiest of homes suddenly feels like a college dorm, plus diapers. We did have a great time though. Mom went to her usual ridiculous trouble of planning entertainment for all. We went to the spa, took the kids on a carriage ride through the Christmas lights, Jonathan golfed, we went to a Lakers game, went carolling, Jonathan golfed, saw the Nutcracker, went to a New Years dance, Jonathan golfed and had lots of fun playing with cousins and Christmas toys.
In our family, the boys( and when I say boys I mean the men, but I refuse to call them men because of the rest of this statement) have 2 grand Christmas traditions, golfing and remote control junk. It began when my brothers were small, every year Santa would bring them slot cars, or remote control monster trucks. Dad would end up playing with them just as much as the boys so "Santa" started bringing 3 of everything. This years Santa brought the "boys"-get this, remote control hot rods, planes, helicopters aaaaand boats. Unbelievable. So we had to try to keep Micahlyn from jumping in the pool after the boats and had to constantly be on the lookout for flying objects in and out of the house. Jonathan, my brothers and Dad definitely had a good time. It was awesome. Here are some of the highlights.
The Taliban- Grandma and Grandpa brought back costumes for the kids for the Christmas Story- sure beats bed sheets.

Some of the guys(missing John, Braxton and Peyton) before family pictures(this was the children's Christmas gift to my mom since it's been 10 years since we were all anywhere at the same the time- my parents were on their mission for the last 2 weddings). We had actually planned to do a casual photo but the day before my dad decided he would like them to be formal. Ahh spontaneity.

That looks like SO much fun! Iva is definitely in her element with all the kids around...and I don't know what genes those are, but none of them were passed on to me either :)
Looks like you had such a fun time. I love the Christmas chaos these days. There are some handsome men in your family. (and the women are just a whole different story). Great pictures.
